Operating Principle
The Side Mounted Magnetic Level Gauge operates based on:
- The principle of communicating vessels, whereby the liquid level in the chamber remains the same as the liquid level in the tank.
- Archimedes’ principle, according to which a float immersed in a liquid experiences a buoyancy force equal to the weight of the displaced liquid.
- Magnetic coupling between the permanent magnet housed inside the float and the magnetic indicator mounted externally.
As the liquid level changes, the float moves vertically inside the side chamber. The magnetic field of the float actuates the indicator rollers or flaps, causing them to rotate and change color, thereby providing a clear and continuous visual indication of the liquid level.
Design
